Hip-hop Guest Room...

I recently vacated my lavish double bedroom home studio for the box room. While I was in the studio I decorated the walls extensively. Now our lucky guests get to sleep in the most hip-hop guest room in London! Damn, we know how to look after people ;)

Just another case of that old HPA 2.0

This is the other side of the trailer I posted yesterday. I'm not feeling this one so much, especially the dodgy pink outline on the letters but the contrast between the blue and purple wasn't sufficient to read easily and I had a limited palette with me. Still it looks better than it did in white!

Just another case of that old HPA

Another HPA piece done today while it was blowing a gale. I ended up with a bit of extra shimmer on my face than I was planning!

Down with HPA?

This is a throw up I did this morning for Hillingdon Play Association. After a bit of a cock-up with them bringing the wrong trailer and a couple of monsoon-esque downpours, I managed to get this piece up. It was not a piece I had planned to do as the trailer was already painted and I was just filling time until the blank trailer arrived. Still it looks pretty tough I reckon, and it's always fun getting paid to paint. More picture soon.

Dephect's welcome...

They Say: Founded by friends from London in 1999, Dephect is a product of the lifestyle and culture that has inspired us over the last decade. Growing up as skaters and listening to Hip Hop in the early 90’s paved our way for a love of underground art, music and sport, and a passion for drawing, painting and graphic design. While remaining under the radar of the masses, Dephect is now an international brand in its own right, progressing via graphic collaborations with unknown and established artists alike.

I Say: I've seen these guys stuff popping up on sites for a few years but I've only recently got on it with this brand. Their website is mad cool with loads of video and music downloads. They are always dashing out discount codes for the mailing list and they are super reliable, fast and friendly -

I like Dephect - so should you!

shout to Chris P Cuts - check his mix on the website...peaCe

The robots are coming...

Well, it would seem that when voting, protest, poetry and music fail to change the tide of returning right-wing/dickhead (Tory/Lib Dem respectively) politics; our last chance for freedom might just be this pair of satirical robots, created by Giles Walker. Check out more of their views at "Now's the time", a new exhibition of post-graffiti (don't!) /streetart works by some really big and expensive names, including Jean Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Barry McGee, Faile, Os Gemeos and one very elusive gift shop owner. Prints will almost definitely make up the bulk of this show and turn the most coin. Personally, I'm getting a little tired of graffiti's rich relative's polite conversations, but at least they're still trying to speak.

The show is on now at The Black Rat Press - Rivington Street, London. EC2A 3AY

So fresh, so clean

It's not often that graffiti is described as an act of environmentalism, but, apart from the wack title, 'reverse graffiti' is just that. Created by cleaning the dirt of city surfaces, this is not what the authorities hope for when they tell writers to clean up their acts and do something useful for society - careful what you wish for...
