Following on from my Zeds Dead post the other week, here's another...
I came across this video thanks to my friend Anna. The video is for Biting Elbow's 2013 single 'Bad Motherfucker' and as the title suggests it's pretty extreme at points. I don't know anything about the band but it reminds me of music from my skateboarding days and the video is sick! The single is available on iTunes if it floats your boat. Dog lovers beware!

- Rhymin' since day... curious is a multi-tasking microphone vandal. Hiphop poetry is the dish of the day. Whether served fresh acapella or over baking hot beats, the elements of this feast are best enjoyed raw. Catch a portion of curious online or on stage, spitting like a pig on a spit roast. Out Spoken 26/2/2013
Out Spoken returned to The Star Of Kings for another rammed out night of spoken word poetry, hip-hop and live acoustic performances from:
Curious - http:// www.artofcurious.blogspot.c o.uk/ - @poetcurious
Hosted by Anthony Anaxagorou and The Ruby Kid, Out Spoken brings together a loyal and diverse crowd of creative minds in a sometimes sweaty basement in the heart of Kings Cross. The vibe is lit-hop and the production is slickly managed by the hosts. The line ups are always varied and crammed and breaks are in short supply. However, the spectacle makes the knee ache worthwhile, and the whole thing is thoroughly documented thanks to Luigi Karim Elliot so you can watch back the highlights from the comfort of your sofa at a later date.
Out Spoken has been running for about a year and has quickly eared a reputation as one of London's freshest nights to attend or perform at!! Check facebook for the next Out Spoken event and book your ticket early!
Big thanks to Anthony and Ruby Kid for getting me down. Looking forward to the next one - soon come!!
In the meantime, enjoy these videos from February...

Video - Zeds Dead "Demons"
Wicked video for "Demons" by Zeds Dead (via THE FREAK BEAT) and directed by Benjamin Millepied.
Got a Thriller meets Got To Dance vibe about it, but in a good way, and some of the dancing is top notch. The track is as dutty as you'd know to expect if you check out the trap sounds on THE FREAK BEAT.

Future Movement - interview for The Artruists
I was lucky enough to get this clip shot by Lara Akinnawo for her blog, The Artruists. Follow the link to her site and read the interview that accompanies this poem. This piece talks about the ridiculous state of our political institutions. Enjoy.
Big thanks to Lara.

Old Man Raps
High production values; convincing character acting; subtlety, reflection and honest real talk about emotions are not often found within the fabric of a rap video, but Bambu's Old Man Raps, directed by Patricio Ginelsa is a pleasant and mature departure from the strip bar aesthetics of the majority of mainstream artists peddling porn in place of art.
Bambu describes himself as:
a dad, a comrade, an organizer, an artist, a worker, a fan, a soldier, a thinker, a do-er and a fighter until death.
...why so humble? add to that list, actor, lyricist, activist and fund-raiser and you can see why Bambu's old man raps carry the weight of authenticity and authority that they deserve.

Curious sound and visuals
Found this when I was deleting tracks off my ccMixter account. I had no idea it had been made. Hopefully someone's made bare money off it and I can swoop in for my cut (get it, cut - very clever!). The track is one of Ashwan's beats that I took and got my boy Morose to lay that sick guitar over; a quick rearrange and chop up and now it's all mine!!! (and everyone else who contributed, of course). Enjoy

Lemme hear you say K-OS...
They say that music moves on 20 year cycles, in and out of vogue and relevance. That would explain the shallow fascination with the decade that brought us Britain's first reptilian prime minister; a proper recession; rioting in the streets; social inequality and 'problems that our kids will have to solve'. Well kids, put the problem-solving away for a minute, in, 4, 3, 2, 1...
BOOM! It's 2010 fools and that means - The 90's are coming!!!!
K-OS seem to have realised that earlier than most in this release from last year. It's got those 90's R&B swinging drums, that were ripped from classic hip-hop tracks by the likes of Puffy and JD (having already been ripped from classic soul tracks by the likes of every hip-hop producer EVER!) while remaining raw and honest. I like this - BUT - I am 35 years old!! - link?

We need more Yes Men!!
If you don't know, the Yes Men are political activist pranksters that play high-stakes charades posing as employees and representatives of unethical global corporations for the purpose of exposing the hypocritical and inhuman practices of off-shore, free-market capitalism. One such company is Dow Chemicals:
